Center Director
Sandwich Children’s Center (SCC) in Center Sandwich, NH seeks a full-time Center Director. SCC is a play-based, child-led, nature-inspired, aspiring NAEYC, family centered program in the northeast. SCC fosters the development of the whole child and nurtures their curiosity for learning about themselves, the natural world, and the communities around them.
Description: Self motivated, optimistic, passionate, honest, energetic, strong leader, who is a forward thinking, problem solver, poised under pressure, and willing to work collaboratively with an engaged Board.
Qualifications: Higher education degree preferred related to early childhood development; education and experience in non-profit administration; strong communication, leadership and organizational skills; strong personnel management and community relationship building skills. Meets NH State licensing requirements for Center Director. (see pages 79-80 DHHS rules)
Core Responsibilities: Development and administration of Sandwich Children’s Center educational program and projects in accordance with best practices and the mission, philosophy, and policies established by the Board of Directors and Executive Director within state licensing requirements. The Center Director is responsible for the overall management of Sandwich Children’s Center include: working with an engaged Board and Executive Director, responsible for staff development and supervision, classroom teaching and curriculum, enrollment, parent and community relations, healthy and safety, budgeting, and marketing and public relations.
SCC offers competitive pay commensurate with experience, paid time off, and professional development. Applicants should be available to work year round.

Sandwich Children’s Center is located in Center Sandwich, a picturesque small town which borders Squam Lake and the White Mountains and is within 20 minutes of the towns of Center Harbor, Meredith, Moultonborough, Tamworth, and Holderness. SCC was founded over 37 years ago and is financially sound and well equipped thanks to generous support from the surrounding communities. If you would need to relocate to Sandwich, please still apply. Our team will do our best to support this transition leveraging our local networks and resources. We know relocating can be hard. There is a 3 bedroom apartment available at SCC for reasonable rent.

- You have at least 2 years as a director or management experience, early childhood education and experience working with young children (12 months - 5 years)
- You hold an Associates Degree (required)
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
- You are familiar with play-based education and a child-led approach
- You hold child care licensing credentials (associate or lead NH DHHS)
- You are CPR Certified
- You are able to reliably commute or planning to relocate to Sandwich, NH (Required)
